Welcome Donna Lindell
The faculty team at Centennial College received a big boost this Fall with the addition of Donna Lindell to the full-time roster for the Corporate Communications & Public Relations program.
Donna brings more than 20 years’ experience as a corporate communicator with senior leadership roles in association, agency and corporate.
Named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2003 recognizing her career achievements to date; Donna was editor of a national magazine before she graduated from university and headed up major financial services accounts at award-winning agency, Strategic Objectives in Toronto.
She led the successful global communications efforts for Canada’s largest Initial Public Offering in her role as Vice President, Corporate Communications at Manulife Financial. While at Manulife, Donna and her team won IABC Gold Quill Awards for issues management and employee communication.
Donna has been teaching in the program part-time for the past 18 months, and also led the School of Communications, Media & Design‘s successful Project Fusion collaboration project in 2012/13. The highlight was The Big Race, a joint project with PR and Broadcasting & Film students focused on raising awareness of transit in the GTA.
In a December 2012 blog post, Confessions of a Communications Teacher, she shared a secret: “I love teaching.” She went on to write: “In every interview I’ve been in over the years, I talked about wanting to make a difference. I am and I can see it every day in the progress of the students I get to teach.”
Donna’s passion for teaching and public relations is a winning combination for Centennial’s Corporate Communications & Public Relations students.
