Centennial PR students attend ideacity
More than 30 students from Centennial’s Corporate Communications & Public Relations students were privileged to attend Moses Znaimer’s ideacity Conference from June 19 to 21st. Billed as Canada’s “premier meeting of minds,” ideacity brought together an eclectic range of 50 presenters who spoke on a range of topics related to how technology is influencing the world. Our public relations students joined students from the Children’s Entertainment, Journalism, Interactive Digital Media and Advertising programs at the conference. Centennial College was proud to be an ideacity sponsor.
Public relations students actively tweeted through the three days and got to attend the opening night party at Spice Route and closing night gala at the ZoomerPlex, headquarters for ZoomerMedia and new home to MZTV Museum of Television in Toronto’s Liberty Village.
Highlights from ideacity including an opening presentation by Don Tapscott on the impact of the new digital generation, to the latest in robotics, space exploration, 3D printing and architecture. One of the most moving presentations came from Jack Andraka, a 16 year-old student who’s invented a paper-strip test for pancreatic and other cancers.
Thanks to the team at ideacity and ZoomerMedia for inviting Centennial students to participate!
