In the Red Chair – CC&PR students spend an afternoon with Strombo

More than 50 students from Centennial’s Corporate Communications & Public Relations program recently had the opportunity to watch a live taping of CBC’s George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre.  Students got to see George interview horror legend George C. Romero and comic Debra DiGiovanni guesting on the “3 Things Panel.” Following the taping, they spent a lively hour with George, talking about everything from what makes a good interview to the role of public relations professionals.

George had some great advice for the future PR professionals, including making sure they understand how to properly prepare people for media interviews.  George’s most important advice: “It’s a conversation. Don’t over prep people to the point that they’re just repeated rehearsed lines.  Interviewees like that don’t get invited back.”  Centennial CC&PR students want to thank George for giving up so much of his time to speak with us and talk one-on-one.
