Centennial presents 5th Annual Talk is Cheap Social Media Unconference

Centennial College’s Corporate Communications & Public Relations program will host Talk is Cheap 5.0 on Monday, November 26 from 5:15 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Centre for Creative Communications, 951 Carlaw Ave., Toronto.

This is the fifth year for the college’s popular social media “unconference” which draws a broad cross section of public relations professionals, marketers and students.  This year’s event is being organized by a group of students from the program as part of their Event Management course.

The event will include a networking reception, panel discussion on non-profits and social media, and a series of interactive workshops on topics related to PR and social media.

The plenary panel on non-profits and social media will feature Jennifer Mayville of Environmental Defence; Alex Apostol of Free the Children; Melissa Campisi of the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary; and Peter McGregor of Strategic Objectives.

Highlights include presentations by Adrienne Batra of the Toronto Sun; Roanne Argyle from Argyle Communications; social marketer Leona Hobbs;  sports blogger Steve Dangle;  Julie Geller from Cision Canada; Brennan Sarich from the Toskan Casale Foundation; and Keerthana Kamalavasan from The Premier’s Office, Government of Ontario.
