Students launch #yourcityyourway campaign

Team CivicAction (L to R): Jennifer Bull, Marguerite Holland, Emily Mininger, Quyen Le, Beata Carissa, Milena Alvarenga

As part of Centennial College’s unique Storyworks course, offered in second semester, students get to create and execute a real campaign for a real client. A group of six students working for non-profit CivicAction, worked with survey company Maru/Matchbox to design a survey of millennials asking them what issues they wanted their civic leaders to address leading up to both provincial and municipal elections.

Students then wrote, edited and went through rounds of approvals, got it on the wire, sent it out to a custom list of local journalists and followed up with media call pitching the story and offering interviews.
