Centennial’s ‘The Big Race’ featured on CBC News

Anticipation is mounting for the first episode of The Big Race.  The first segment of the 8 part series will be unveiled at the Greater Toronto Civic Action Alliance Our Region, Our Move conference on Wednesday, April 17.  The series is supported by Metrolinx and Civic Action.

The project, a collaboration between students in the Corporate Communications & Public Relations and Broadcasting & Film programs at Centennial College, is generating lots of media buzz.  Click on the photo below to see a CBC report by Steven D’Souza featuring CC&PR students Meaghan Savage and Kendell Duthie (who also participated in the race with daughter Bea!

An idea that would have teams racing across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton regions on public transit is the winner of Centennial College’s 10.10.10 Competition. “The Amazing Transit Race” would raise awareness of the difficulties for commuters on low income, who have disabilities, or who speak a language other than English.
