CBC News Network anchor Andrew Nichols visits Centennial

Fresh from the anchor desk, CBC News Network’s Andrew Nichols visited the Centre for Creative Communications on December 4 to speak with Corporate Communications & Public Relations students.  During the interactive session, Andrew shared a recent interview he conducted on the court decision to remove Toronto Mayor Rob Ford from office, sharing the elements of a good interview with students in the media relations class.

In a wide ranging discussion, students shared their views with Andrew about the future of news, the role of CBC and the worldwide media frenzy over the Duchess of Cambridge’s just-announced pregnancy.  Andrew shared some of the behind-the-scenes discussions that go on everyday in deciding what gets to air.  He also gave some important insight into how public relations professionals can work effectively with the media to ensure a good interview.
