Congratulations to our Wicken Award nominees!

Three teachers from Centennial’s Corporate Communications & Public Relations program were nominated for this year’s George Wicken Award for excellence in teaching. It’s the first time there has been three nominations from one program.  The teachers — Donna Lindell, Vivienne McCuaig and Lisa Rebnord — were nominated for the prestigious honour by their students.

Lindell, a full-time professor in the program, teaches a range of courses including Introduction to Corporate Communications, Business for Corporate Communicators and Communications Management.  McCuaig teaches PR Writing 1 & 2 along with Media Relations. Rebnord teaches in both the CC&PR and Graphic Design programs at the Story Arts Centre.

The Wicken Awards celebrate the memory and contributions of George Wicken, a Centennial College English professor who died far too young, at the age of 36, in 1984. George was revered for his tireless dedication to students and the teaching profession. The Wicken Awards Dinner has been held annually since 1985 to honour his memory.

Congratulations to our exceptional teachers on this great honour.
