Student Event: Cucumber Cumbaya

Cucumber Cumbaya posterOn Monday, November 12, 2012, Centennial Corporate Communications & Public Relations students are throwing a Monday Funday Camp Night at WAYLA Bar in support of Camp Cucumber.

Founded in 1990, Camp Cucumber offers single moms on financial assistance and their kids (aged 5-13) the opportunity to experience a true Canadian tradition: sleepover camp. Each year in the last week of June, moms and kids take the bus north to take part in swimming, canoeing, fishing, making crafts and learning outdoor skills, away from the stresses and strains of city life.

So come on out on November 12 at 7 p.m. to WAYLA Bar at 996 Queen St. East for a night of camp-themed fun! There will be live music, food, games, prizes, camp-themed alcoholic drinks and a S’mores table. Throw on your favourite plaid shirt and come on out!

Mallika, founder of Intent.com, is best known as the daughter author Deepak Chopra.
